Our Fees

The Cost of Mediation with WYFMS

We fully understand the financial burden often imposed by divorce or separation and, as a non-profit organisation we do our upmost to ensure that we provide a premium service as affordable as possible.  Our fees compare extremely favourably to using the services of a family solicitor and, with us, there are no hidden charges.

For our clients on a low income or benefits, with limited savings or assets, then there may be assistance available with their fees with Legal Aid.  If only one of you qualifies for legal aid, then the fees for the initial meeting and first mediation session for the non-qualifying client may also be covered by the scheme.

Fees given are per person and are inclusive of VAT
Debit/credit card payments can be made by telephone to 01274 732768

We can offer legally aided mediation under our contract with the Legal Aid Agency. If you are in receipt of certain benefits or a low income you may qualify for legal aid for mediation.

Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting

When you attend your MIAM, a legal aid assessment will be offered. If you are eligible, your fee will be refunded and all of your mediation costs will be covered by legal aid*.

Mediation sessions

If either you or your former-partner are eligible for legal aid for family mediation, we can refund both of you for attendance at your MIAM meetings AND provide your first mediation session without charge to either of you.  This offers the two of you an opportunity to begin mediation without delay.

Writing up your agreement

If you are legally aided in your own right, the cost to you of preparing your agreement, once mediation is completed, is covered by legal aid. You will also be able to access advice from a family law solicitor on the settlement you’re proposing to make.

*An assessment for legal aid can only be completed if you bring the correct documents to your appointment. If you do not, we will not be able to find you legally aided or make a refund of your original fee.

Cancellation policy

As a ‘not for profit’ organisation, we price all of our services as low as possible and therefore, non-attended appointments are a high cost to us. We are dependent on clients attending as arranged in order to avoid additional costs being incurred. In view of this, we are forced to make a charge for re-scheduled, late cancelled and non-attended appointments as follows:
  • 3 full working days or less notice given £95
  • Over 3 and up to 5 full working days notice given £60
  • Other cancellations and re-scheduling £30

(Non-attendance at appointments is charged at full price)
